Note that this political structure applies only for the Kingdom players, not the rebels. I will make the political structure for the Rebels later and add it later.
Civilian Ranks
King / Queen - the ruler of the kingdom, or in this case Steward as the ruler on their place.
Duke / Duchess - They are the rulers of the Five Duchies, answering to the King, Queen or Steward only. They are the enforcers of the laws of their own duchies, even though there are boundaries which are set even to them by the King, Queen or Steward. They are those who gain most of the profit from taxation from their duchies - even though some of the money belongs to the throne - and they often have their own personal armies, even though not as large as the King's Army - only the united five armies of the duchies would be a match for the army that is employed by the ruler of the nation.
Baron / Baroness - Rulers of the local areas, most likely residing in larger towns in each province. They are the supervisors of the local population. They often employ only small forces of men, enough to keep the peace in their own towns and lands, profited to them by their dukes or duchess', and even though these small forces of soldiers are in their command, they couldn't raise them against their liege-lords, for these are commanded by individuals appointed to lead the forces by their liege-lords themselves - these individuals often being lesser sons of either the family that rules the Duchy or perhaps bastard-sons of the family. But of this later.
Lords / Ladies - To put it simple, they are those who inhabit the courts of the duchies. They often hold no more power than the common people, but they descend from the ruling families of the duchies and often hold small estates in distant corners of the provinces. They are rarely seen in significant posts - some, however, are willing to risk their lives and make a glorious career in the army, often holding ranks such as captain, or perhaps even going as high as marshal.
Military Ranks
Warlord of Manzanare - The highest ranking officer in the military. Often being from the close family of the royalty, he is the leader of the Manzanare army and holds all the strings in his hands. He is the one who draws the general picture of tactics, though he leads the vast majority of the King's Army when it is on field.
Knight Marshal - The leaders of the armies of duchies, each one of them working separately and being commanded by the Warlord of Manzane. Their armies are often numbered no more than thousand men, divided into companies of 100 - 200 men.
General - The rank for those who lead the troops of the King's Army in direct guidance of the Warlord of Manzane. They lead troops that number around 1000 men, divided into companies of 100 - 200 men. These men are more often those who have earned their rank with their experience rather than birth-right, which is often the case in the armies of the duchies.
Marshal - Both in the King's Army and armies of duchies. They are commanders of the outposts and large towns, each one of them leading around 200 men - two companies.
Captain - Each captain commands one company, which are divided into three different groups - for example, one group of bowmen, one group of swordmen, one group of spearmen and one group of horsemen. Captains are most often, when in duchies armies, young noblemen who have just been assigned into army, with only little experience from the frontier or battle, though with medium knowledge about tactics due to their training. In King's Army, captains are men with experience of years behind them, and are often more efficient as commanders than young noblemen.
Sergeant - Leaders of the groups under the Captain.
About knights :
Knights are mostly noblemen who can afford their own mounts, armor and weapons, serving as the heavy cavalry of Manzanare forces. They fight for glory, as well as to gain their passage into good graces of their ruler.
