Alivon sat on the lower branch of a tree, he didn't know exactly where he was in the city, but he didn't much care either. This was his time off from hunting bandits and helping travelers. Looking up at the bright blue sky, he ignored the stares from several people who probably though it was odd that someone dressed completely in black was sitting in a tree in the middle of the city.
He looked down from the sky, around at the part of the city he was in. "Well...I'll sit here for a few more minutes, then find something to do..." He gave one last glance around at the people, and then lay ed his head back against the branch.

Lucius walked with a slight limp, a result of a wound from battle that had never really healed, as he headed down to the marketsquare. The sun was rising at the horizon, it was early morning - but even then the narrow streets were busy and crowded, as he walked through the crowd - many didn't even notice him walking by, and only few of those who noticed hastily either bowed or nodded as a greet for their liegelord. Lucius had never been a familiar sight in the city, and most of his people knew him only by his fame as an efficient, cruel general and a somewhat cunning and able statesman. As always when he entered the city, he had wished to remain unnoticed - he did this quite often now that the situation in the north, the skirmishes against the barbarians, had ceased for the duration of the summer and spring - he didn't trust the words of his agents about the opinions of his people, rather he would listen to their opinions himself.
That particular morning Lucius decided to take a shortcut, turning into less crowded, silent street that went through a small grove that was located in the heart of the city. The grove was known as Duchess' Garden, for it was founded three generations before him by Duchess Magdalene von Hess, and it was perhaps only piece of untouched nature inside the walls of the city - it had been set there to remind the people of the city about their connection with the nature and how they should always guard and respect it - that was one of the principles of the Hathian Faith and many of the hessians lived by those principles even this very day, and Lucius could see few figures walking among the trees, admiring the beauty of the Duchess' Garden.
He stopped for a while, to hold down his violent cough, and happened to look up at one nearby tree. He saw a figure sit on the lowest branch of one of the trees, wearing a black outfit, and as he straightened his back, he walked closer to the man.

alivon looked over at the man who was approaching for a couple seconds, and then resumed his gaze back on the sky. He was hoping to be left alone today.
he thought to himself: "maybe he might have something interesting to say...although I wouldn't exactly be surprised if he was just here to complain about my climbing the tree's." at the though, he chuckled to himself and sat up in the tree, his curiosity of whoever was approaching him finally getting the best of him.
He even waved to the man, which was unusual for him when he had a day off. Standing up, he would use the trunk as a slide, going feet first down it, almost tripping in the process. He managed to keep his balance however, and hit the ground, going down onto his knees from the fall. He quickly stood up not being very far from the man anymore
((sorry for the short-ish post, not sure what else he could do))

Lucius looked at the man as he fell from the tree, slightly amused, hiding his smile from the man's eyes. He looked around himself. He noted that the man had a skin slightly darker in shade than those of Hess, and that he had something in him, something that made him look... perhaps more subtle, stronger. Something about him made Lucius think that if the man had crossed his path in a crowd he would've not even noticed him.
He shook his head, a friendly smile on his lips. "I am sorry. It is only that we don't have too many visitors from the south here in the far north." He looked at man's equipment, saying, "I assume that you are a bounty hunter of sorts. Your equipment seems rather different from those that mercenary companies usually use - plus you don't have a tabard of your company in your shirt, nor in your cloak." He smiled. "Just trying to make guesses here, my good man. I intend no harm", he said - though he would move his cloak a little so that the man would see that neither he was unarmed, revealing the bony hilt of his longsword on his side.
"I can also see that you're new to my city", he said, "and wouldn't mind little company as I make my way to the marketsquare to see what the merchants have to offer. Tonight is, after all, Midsummer's Eve and many of the southern merchants have come from the south to honor the old celebration - a pagan celebration, mind you - of Hess and of course seeking to take an advantage of the drunken and happy mob. I will also serve you a beer. Looks like you've hurt yourself while your fall, which is completely my fault, of course", he said, bowing a little and then looking at the man's eyes, smiling slightly as he waited for the reply.

He smirked at the man. "I was not injured in the fall, and it's not your fault in the least, it's mine for being careless on my way down." He gave one last look up to the tree. "I suppose I could take the entire day off...although tomorrow will be hard work." He gave a slight smile to the man, he was unused to being treated this way, most people gave him one look and decided not to talk to him, usually because of his appearance. But then again, if Alivon had wanted to be social, he would be wearing normal clothes, and no weapons. "Lead the way, Iv'e got no clue where I'm going in this city." He gave a grin and waited for him.
